Computer program for brake calculation of pneumatically braked trailers according to the EC directive Braking systems

The program runs on all IBM-compatible MS-DOS computers that are running MS Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8, 32 bit or 64 bit. Our programs do not run on Windows RT. We recommend that you use a PC with at least 2 GB of RAM and min. 40 MB of free space on the hard disk. A DVD drive is required to install the program. If you do not have a DVD drive on your computer, you can also obtain the program or programs on a USB memory card for a small supplement (also for updates).

BrakeWIN is available in Danish, German, English, Finnish, French, Swedish and Spanish.

BrakeWIN can also run without TrailerWIN.

We are not able to provide any guarantee/warranty that the data contained in TrailerWIN and all the other programs will match the actual weights or dimensions of the vehicles or equipment.

After the corresponding trailer with axle number and suspension type has been selected, the trailer is displayed on the screen. Then the suspension type, vehicle dimensions, weights and centres of gravity can be edited.

Brake analyses are possible for the following trailer types at present:

  • Trailers with draw bar: 2, 3, 4, 5 axles
  • Semitrailers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 axles
  • Centre-axle trailers: 1, 2, 3 axles
  • Dolly axles: 1, 2 axles

Then select the

  • axle make (BPW, DaimlerChrysler, Frühauf, Gigant, Granning, Hendrickson, JPK, Kome, Osman, ROR, SAF, SAE, Scania, Sisu, Volvo, Warstein)
  • tyre size
  • Bremszylinder/Bremshebellängen (Anchorlok, Arfesan, Bendix, Bertocco, BPW, Knorr, Master, Maxibrake, MGM, SAF, TSE Brakes, Wabco)
  • brake cylinders/brake lever lengths (Anchorlok, Arfesan, Bendix, Bertocco, BPW, Knorr, Master, Maxibrake, MGM, SAF, TSE Brakes, Wabco)
  • pneumatic braking valves with settings (Grau/Haldex, Knorr, Wabco, also combinable)
The program calculates and draws:
  • the braking curves in the braking ranges when unloaded and loaded
  • the friction curves of the individual axles in the adhesion diagrams when loaded and unloaded

  • the braking force in relation to the axles and the pm pressure when loaded and unloaded
  • die Reibungskurven der einzelnen Achsen in den Adhäsionsdiagrammen für leer und beladen
  • the cylinder pressure in relation to the pm pressure when loaded and unloaded
  • calculation of the brake system rating in accordance with Annex VII 71/320/EEC
  • presentation of the braking cylinder pressures of the individual axles in relation to the pm pressure when loaded and unloaded
  • presentation of the braking cylinder pressures of the individual axles in relation to the pm pressure when loaded and unloaded
  • furthermore the parking brake can be rated as hand crank brake or spring-loaded brake
All the data required for rating the brake system is saved in a database and is accessed as required.
